Somali Media is under possible attacks and restrictions oncoming days

Mogadishu, Somalia April 4, 2010 :: The Somali Journalist Rights Agency (SOJRA) is concern the reckless press conference of the radical Islamist organization in Mogadishu on Saturday April 3, 2010.

The media houses located where the Islamist organizations controlled was ordered to stop the airing music and songs by any means and this limitation started from today Sunday April 3, 2010 till the oncoming nine (9) days.

In a press conference held on Saturday April 3, 2010 in Mogadishu, Moalim Hashi Mohamed, who is the man in charge of Banadir region for the Hizbul Islam said that any media station that fails to act in accordance with his order for stopping music and songs should face serious penalty.

The Hizbul Islam speaker Moalim Hashi was also stated in his press conference yesterday that they will also welcome AlQaeda leader Sheikh Osama Bin-laden in Mogadishu the capital city of Somalia.

However, SOJRA calls for international attention for Hizbul Islam’s media restrictions in Somalia in order to make sure their safety.
