The Somali Journalists Rights Agency (SOJRA) is to day welcoming The sacking of the governor of Banaadir Region, who is also the mayor of Mogadishu, Muhammad Omar Habeb 0 August,2008 .

The sacking of the governor of Banaadir Region, who is also the mayor of Mogadishu, Muhammad Omar Habeb, aka Muhammad Dhere, has been welcomed SOJRA's Secretary General Daud Abdi Daud and all Somali Journalists as well as the civilians in South and Central Somalia.

"we are welcoming the news from the office of the prime minster which says the governor was sacked following a decree issued by the office of the prime minister of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia so that we are actually welcoming the move. Muhammad Dheere was part of the problem in Mogadishu and he was part of the problem facing the Somali journalists in last two years. said Daud Abdi Daud SOJRA's Secretary General.

In the beginning  of 2008 a large number of Somali journalists and other media workers were met to more difference  of violence and attacks like as harassment, killing, threats, arrests, arbitrary detention, and censorship.
