SOJRA is
shocked
to learn of
series of suicide bomb attacks
carried out mid-morning on Wednesday 29 October
outside the
Ethiopian consulate in Hargeisa, Somaliland,
injured three journalists.
In Hargeisa
witnesses reported more than 20 people were killed and more than 30
among three journalists injured when three separate cars
simultaneously drove into compounds housing President Dahir Riyale
Kahin's private residence, the UN Development Program offices, and
the Ethiopian consulate, with the last location suffering the worst
of the damage and the greatest number of casualties.

Newspaper was wounded at the left hand, Abdi Hamud of Somaliland
space channel was injured at the left arm, and journalist Mohamed
Harun Ahmed of Somaliland Space Channel was also severely injured as
his two legs were broken by the suicide bomb.
"We condemned
all deliberate and indiscriminate attacks on civilians, which are
clearly prohibited under international law as result of that we
calls for prompt and impartial investigations into Wednesday's
deadly attacks" said Daud Abdi Daud the executive Director of Somali
Journalists Rights Agency (SOJRA).
The Somali
Journalists Rights Agency (SOJRA) demands investigations into
Wednesday's deadly attacks and calls on Somaliland, Puntland and TFG
authorities to ensure that those responsible are held accountable
according to international standards of justice without application
of the death penalty.
