decades and among the important victims of these cases
are Somali journalists. Government and other political
organization have been continuously violating all media
rights in Somalia. so far, these year alone 9 Somali

seriously injured, while their on duty.
Somali journalists and media
professionals are not only risk their lives in order to
publish much needed information on a highly volatile
situation. In the past five years, they have also faced
death threats, arrests from TFG forces, Puntland and
Somaliland Authorities.
Islamist insurgent groups
(Al-shabab and Hizbul Islam) and freelance armed groups
also target the journalist by Killing them and making arbitrary arrests and
detentions.
beatings; abductions; the closure of radio
stations and other media outlets; and other restrictions
on their activities and coverage have also becoming wide.
Media house directors and well known
Somali writers receive death threats on quite a lot of
incidents and have barely escaped assassination
attempts, while some of them were assassinated. There
are also some journalists and media professionals fled
the country and seek refuge in to the surrounding
nations and overseas countries while others apparently
stopped their involvement in the broadcasting hub
